Frequently asked questions

A few things worth knowing

Will my family members need to download an app?
Circle members can answer prompts using a private link, no account or app required.
Do I need to remind my family to participate?
You invite them and we’ll take care of the rest. We do the nudging, sending questions to your circle on a schedule that doesn’t overwhelm. Answering from their private link only takes two minutes.
Is anything public?
No public profile, no social feed, and no searchable family page. We’ll never share your family’s archive or use it for marketing purposes.
What if Our Fable isn’t around when they’re grown?
Your archive is exportable at any time. Files are saved in standard formats so your family always has a way to keep its own copy.
Who owns the content in my family’s archive?
You do. Our Fable is your lockbox, not the owner.
Is it too late to start?
Not at all. An 11-year-old’s grandparents still have stories to share. The best day to start is the day they are born, the second best is today.
How can I access my account if there are changes to our family?
When setting up your account, you are required to designate at least one Archive Guardian. We will reach out to your Archive Guardian 120 days after a missed payment, giving them the option to take over ownership and download your family’s archive. We never want your memories to be lost.
Can I customize delivery dates for letters in my child’s archive?
Yes. We offer preset milestone dates (ages 4, 7, 10, 13, 16, 18, 21) and the ability to set and adjust custom dates in the future, so you can have a letter ready for high school graduation or a wedding.Have a question we didn’t answer? Kindly reach out to us anytime at hello@ourfable.org.
